Your personal style is a tree

For some reason, looking at a group of trees, today, I thought of musical tone color. Each tree was different: ash, eucalyptus, walnut, pine; each type had overall leaf and branch and trunk shape representative of that tree type, and that overall shape made me think of timbre (no, wise guy, not timber). The trees seen as a group, a chord.

People have personal sartorial and decorative styles– for
some, it’s style by default…as in hobo “styles”– for others, styles of expression. Goth rocker style, Biker style, golfer style, and distinctive personal style…those human styles are like the overall pattern of leaves and branches which are, in turn, like musical tone color. People think they consciously created their style… mostly it seems to grow out of them, with a kind of psychological inevitability.
