The Vast Unseen Mechanism Beneath Our Feet

We had an earthquake this morning–not so big, 3.7 – big enough the house jolted, and shivered a bit, as if frightened; the cats leapt up and ran about with their ears laid back. The dogs started barking. But no damage. It’s the second one of that size in the area in two days.

I posted some days back about how we forget we’re on a planet spinning through space, in a solar system, in a galaxy–we also forget we’re specks on a ball of dirt-and-water covered plates of rock floating on semi rocky material floating on molten lava…

The vast unseen mechanism of the planet is always humming beneath our feet…
