Walking the Monkey Bars Blindfolded

When I was a kid I could walk along the top of the “monkey bars” to show off, it was easy when I was looking, and I’d walk across a dangerous railroad bridge that way. You just have to pay attention. But once i thought I had the monkey bars thing so well learned I could do it with my eyes closed. I tried it, and fell, of course, got bruised up. Learned to keep my eyes open, to do it consciously.

It took me 45 years to learn to do that to the degree I have–far more–with life.

There’s an inner version I’m trying to learn, which might well have something to do with enlightenment.
